Nigerian rapper, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, popularly known as Phyno released his sophomore album “The playmaker” In 2016, with outstanding tracks like “Pino-Pino”, “Connect” and “Fada-Fada.” and a song which people never really listen to become the trending conversation on the social media.
The track “I am a fan” became the talk of the day after it became the subject of heavy controversy with people claiming American singer, Pia Mia stole Phyno's song.
On Friday, May 26, 2017, an American singer, Pia Mia released a new single titled “I’m a fan” featuring singer, Jeremiah and produced by American beat maker “Remo.”
Phyno features fast rising singer Mr Eazi, and another relative newcomer Decarlo on his own version which was  produced by Lagos-based producer Benjamz.
And the song in question didn’t only share the same title with Phyno’s 2016 track, it was pretty much the same song.
