Chelsea sign Alvaro Morata on a 5-year deal

Chelsea has completed the signing of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from Spanish and European Champions Real Madrid.

The striker jet into London on Thursday to complete his medicals, discuss personal terms and sign paper work.

The 24-year-old joins the Blues in a club record deal worth £60 million which could eventually rise to £70 million and singed a 5-year contract with the North Londoners. 

Morata becomes Chelsea third summer singing following the arrivals of Rudiger from AS Roma and Tiomoue Bakayoko from French side Monaco.

Alvaro Morata  expres his delight after signing a deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2022.

“I am so happy to be here. It’s an unbelievable emotion to be part of this great club”

“I am looking to work hard, score as many goals as I can and to win as many trophies as possible.” Morata told the club official website.

Alvaro Morata was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United but the Red Devils opted to sign Romelu Lukaku instead.
