Super Eagles coach named John Obi Milel in his 28-man squad to play Cameroon

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has named Captain John Obi Mikel in his 28-man squad to face Cameroon next month in the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

According to reports, Gernot Rohr will announce his 28-man squad official this week with five players already on standby.

The head coach also named forward China based striker Odion Ighalo, and Israel based Anthony Nwakaeme as part of his squad against the Indomitable Lions.

Victor Moses of Chelsea Football Club of England has been recalled back to the squad after missing the match against South Africa.

William Ekong, Elderson Echiejile, Abdullahi Shehu, Ogneyi Onazi, John Ogu, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenejaro Etebo, Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi and Leicester forward Kelechi Ihenacho also made Gernot Rohr 28-man list.

Nigeria will welcome the reigning champions of Africa to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on 1st September and the return leg on 4th September in Yaounde.

Super Eagles currently sits on top of the table in Group B in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with six points, after winning Zambia and Algeria respectively in their first two matches.

Meanwhile Cameroon takes the second spot with two points after drawing against Algeria and Zambia.
