Lukaku will struggle to match Rooney's Man Utd records - Jose Mourinho

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho says new signing Romelu Lukaku will struggle to match the records set by former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Wayne Rooney left Manchester United to rejoin his boyhood club Everton while Lukaku move from the Blue Mersesyde to Old Trafford to replace the former Man Utd captain.

Everton will face Man Utd on Sunday in their English Premier League fixture, which Rooney will return to Old Trafford as an Everton player.

Despite doing very well in its early games for Man Utd, manager Joes Mourinho explains why he think the 24-year-old Belgian will struggle to match Rooney Records.

"I think Wayne spent probably 10 years of his career in a different Premier League than you have now," said Mourinho."

"A Premier League where it was easier to score goals not just because of the difference between the top teams and others but also because of the profile and the tactical interpretation of the competition."

"I think this Premier League is much more defensive-minded, and much more difficult."
